Hello !

Yesterday evening I have finally been able to see _and_ listen to some
Cajun people. TV broadcast, one hour long, abt some small tows in
Louisiana.
Really interesting, especially for a new Honorary Cajun Member !
The language sounds really like the one spoken in Quebec. I had a
smile each time they were speaking abt their cars, using the word
"char" (tank, military weapon, not "fuel tank").
"On chargeait le char pour aller aux champs"...

So, it is really true .. there is a place in the US where you are
speaking French (+-) ... Incredible !
They explained how the "New Deal" tried to kill local traditions, how
by that time it was forbidden to speak French and so on.
Mais le boudin est toujours l !
The main character was a guy making accordions (hand made). He was
explaining the Cajun story through own family experience from the
moment they "escaped" Canada till nowadays.
At the end, he said something really interesting... There is some
visual effect but will try to explain it and afterwards I will for
sure receive a lot of flames from you, real US patriots ;op

He said : "I am American maybe, but at first and forever I am Cajun,
that is a question of <effect 1> ... but also and at first a
question of <effect 2>"

<effect 1> : he was showing his brain, meaning "intelligence".
<effect 2> : he was showing his heart, meaning ... "heart".

Now, each of us to read and understand this statement in his favorite
way ...

And now I am gg a bit away of the computer ...

72!
