   America is a country founded on principles of
religious tolerance, by people fleeing persecution.
 
   Although we don't always succeed, we hold ourselves
out as a place that welcomes all people, regardless of
their background or beliefs.

   Although those founders happened to be Christian,
that fact shouln't lead us to believe that this is a
Christian nation. 

   I'm not a Christian, for example, and I'm every
particle as much a part of this country as anyone. I
realize that not everyone agrees with this, and it's
pretty scary.
