[SOC] OT: Linux question

Here's yet another Linux question.  I installed Mandrake 8.2 yesterday (I 
love it!!!), but don't appear to have sndconfig.  Did a search, it's nowhere 
on my drive.  I recall setup telling me to run it after setup completed, but 
I can't because I can't find it.  So:

1.  Anyone here running Mandrake 8.2:  Where in the world is it?

2.  If it isn't on here, is there any way to setup my soundcard without 
having to sail off into the personaly uncharted waters of compiling a new 
kernel like the help file suggested?

Btw, soundcard is a plain 'ol original Soundblaster.
