Eigentlich, deutsch ist nicht so schwer.  For the Englisch speaker, German
is not so hard.  It has the same roots as German, being related to the west
branch of the germanic branch of Indo-European, and English came directly
from Low German of 5 AD.  In German there are many familiar friends
(cognates) which one understands immediately.  Word order is merely a matter
of habit.  Nicht Wahr?
