OK, I'll come clean.  I did work K1B today (100w into a wire antenna). 
I could barely hear them, but there wasn't any pileup and he came back
to my first call.  I know, I should have tried QRP first. I've had it
confirmed since the 1950's.  If I really needed it, I'm sure I wouldn't
have gotten through.

If it ever stops being fun, I'll give it up.
