Have you ever noticed how hams get ripped by the rig manufacturers, take
for example you buy a new brand x rig with a one year warranty and its
not quite what you want, so you sell it say 3 months down the road. The
manufacturer will not transfer the warranty to the new buyer.I might be
short sighted here but it seems if you have a product and you really
want to gain customer support you would honor the warranty for the
entire year regardless of who owns it. The Auto makers tried to pull
this a few years ago in Michigan and almost went under, now they will
honor the warranty regardless of who owns the vehicle. The interesting
thing about this is I have spoken with two U.S. manufacturers and the
service techs there said more or less that "we really don't care who
owns the rig we will warranty it however (and watch the word however)
you must send it in for repair under the original buyers name, address
don't matter. What do you guys think of this?
