Shucks, I thought I was the only one to get the appeal from Africa.

Does seem to have spread from Nigeria.  The first of these scams did start
in Nigeria and continued so for some time.  Hmmmm, wonder if they've had
enough sucker... er, takers, to consider it a lucrative operation.
