I guess it's safe to finally admit this--

About 20 years ago there was a KH7 (Kure Island) station on 20 SSB I
was trying to work, but there was a lot of qrm, so I switched the
second vfo to the CW portion of the band and started calling a station
I heard there.  Since there was no reply, I kept repeating my call over
and over until I realized I had hit the split switch and was
transmitting code on top of the SSB DX.  I went back and finally was
able to contact him quite apologetically.
