Bill,
<<
These engage in daily dogfights with the F-16s at nearby Langley AFB. Score is
about
even over the years. This accounts for proficiency of both USAF pilots and
the damned mosquitoes.
>>
Well, I know that frozen chicken are used to test engines and even structure of
planes.
First time I read that _living_ mosquitos are used for the same (?) purpose ...
Now maybe I do understand why your local animal defenders societies are on alert
... !
BTW, you surely know why motorbikers never smile ...
<Chris & Mr P, pse SKIP the following part ...>
<<
A quad 50 (4 of them) is a close-in (single point) air defense weapon from an
earlier era.
>>
Have you tried the Exocet version ? They have be proven to be really efficient
even when the defenders are undernumbered ...
<end of skipping for our G friends ... maybe !>
<Chris & Mr P ... you _may_ skip this one too !!.. >
Speaking of Yorktown, a long time I've not been there ...I do not remember the
place exactly and my friend Universalis does not help me too much on this
subject. Will try the alternate way (the spider one).
I have just understood that by that time we've done it agn against the Perfide
Albion, helping a people to whom we were enemy 15 years before (irony of the
history !).
Some months ago I asserted that the help from France to US has mainly been a
political game. Someone (US friend) then asked me : "what do you think so ?
France did helped us in a great and generous way".
For sure but I _think_ we can not deny that the French help was also/mainly (?)
bcoz the opponent was the British nation, our "all time" enemy.
Abt staying away from the marshes, Napoleon did it agn years later ... Some
French
strategy, maybe ?? Frogs are always staying away from dirty marshes ... Did I
say "always" ?? Humm, a bit pretentious ... As you know, the French symbol is a
cock/rooster, the only animal able to sing while having legs in dung. Typically
French !!
<end of 2nd G skipping>
<This part is _only_ for my G friends>
In 9 days we will celebrate (I hope !!! cf. my post abt 06/06 ...) the "Appel du
18 juin", made by De
Gaulle from London.
Should British people has not be so courageous in the '40s, I am affraid neither
this radio call nor many other things would have been possible.
Tnx to you.
<End of private part>
Vy 73!
