I agree, Ian. I remeber years ago when I lived near Appalachicola, FL, buying 
a burlap bag full of oysters, sitting on the porch, shuckin' and eatin'. 

However, you would not want to eat an oyster nowadays unless it had been 
cooked, sterilized, or otherwise rendered harmless. The water is not like it 
used to be.
