I bet in 50 years I'll be saying - "Remember when you used to have a
license?  Now all you have to do is fill out a form and you're on".....  I
don't like it or look forward to it, but I bet it's headed that way.

Yes you do. In 40 years, you can get on QRP-L and say stuff like "Damn
young
whippersnappers, back in the old days we REALLY had to take a test. I
studied
for weeks, skipped the Daytona 500, and walked 10 miles to take the test"

Of course, by then, you get a Tech for $100, a General for $250 and an
Extra
for $500....... paid to W5YI, who will have taken over for the FCC in 2027.
