Jack and Chloe, duet (of names) winner in Great Britain
[2002-12-28 12:20]
LONDON (Reuters) - Jack and Chloe remain the most popular names in
Great Britain, according to a poll published on Saturday, a month
before the official list of the national statistic Office.
Jack arrives in head for the eighth consecutive year, being the best
score of a name in the course of the last fifty years, and Chloe
seduced for six years, accoring to the study of the internet site bounty.com.
The biblical name popularity does not fall neither, six of them
ranking among the ten names most choosen for boys: Joshua, Thomas,
Daniel, Matthew, Luke and Joseph.
British parents seem increasingly influenced by choice of stars. Mia,
the chosen name by the actress Kate Winslet for her girl, makes its
entry in the "Top 30" and Dylan, name of the son of Catherine Zeta
Jones and Michael Douglas, remains at 27th position for the second
consecutive year.
However, Leo, choice of the prime minister Tony Blair for his last
born, has fallen in disfavor in 2002, after having climbed 40 places
in 2001.
The Jubilee of the queen Elizabeth has not aroused vocations but
Charlies, diminutive of Charles, name of her first son, figure again
among the 30.
Despite the popularity of the young magician hero Harry Potter, the
name Harry loses three places to rank ninth.
Ben undertakes the biggest ascent of the year, pass of 23rd to 11th
place of the classification boys. As for girls, it is Ellie that
realizes the best performance: 13rd the last year, the name points
today in fifth position.
John, that was number one during years, is found only in 62nd place of
the 2002 list.
