Yeess ... And believe me, we have been once agn a public laughing
stock. Just think abt Air Canada flights diverted to Geneva bcoz Paris
was under 5cm of snow ... HILAROUS !

15-20 years ago the Railway company (http://www.sncf.fr) has put into
service a new model of trains, modern ones, for suburb network (they
are still in use nowadays). First winter coming, first light snow
falling and you guess what ? Failure of the engines ! Why ? Well, just
bcoz the locomotive has been designed in such a way that snow was able
to enter the engine area when the train was driving. And now, just
imagine the brand new train locomotive, with _cardboard_ put on the
front to avoid the snow entering the engine area !
I SAW that in Paris, France, year +- 1980, 20th century ...

As for snow in Paris, in my childhood (!!) it used to be possible to
make a snow man for Xmas every year. Usual snow covering was about
10cm and by that time, Paris was still alive.
For about 10 years, WX is getting warmer and no more snow here, except
special years like 2 years ago when we have been "lucky" enough to get
those 5 cm snow during the night. And of course, that put the area is
full madness.
The more hilarous being that 2 days before that night, they
_have_said_ on TV (WX forecast) that we were about to get "some snow".

Dennis, pse, be kind with me : I LOVE snow & cold WX ... be a friend
and send some snow on Paris ...

72!
