A Santa Claus kidnapped against ransom in Canada [ 2002-12-19 12:43 ]
TORONTO (Reuters) - robbers removed a Santa Claus made out of plywood from the
garden of a Canadian family of Ontario and require a ransom for its "release",
one learned from the owners.
The kidnappers, who are calling themselves "Grinch Enterprises", of the name of
the green haired bogey which hates Christmas, claim cans for a food bank in
exchange of the restitution of the large red guy to the family residing in
Sarnia, 300 kilometers in the south-west of Toronto.
"My reindeers are still there but Santa Claus has disappeared", declared by
telephone Evelyn Hussey about the 1m20 long piece of wood.
"I want my Santa Claus back because the garden is really dreadful without him",
she added, specifying that she was going to try to gather 700 cans by calling
for help schools of the district.
