It's incredibly satisfying. I hope to join you all on air (legally) before
too long and thus fulfil my promise to Claude.
>>
So you want to join us legally. That's not a SOC way to operate a station but
well, I guess/hope we are all acting this way.
Anyway, glad to see that you are trying hard learning CW. If the UK exam is yet
at 5 WPM, consider reaching 10 WPM to be OK. I guess everyone will agree to say
that there is some "level" at abt 10-12 WPM where it seems that everyone has
some "problems". 10 WPM being reached, then highest speeds come by training,
nothing else.
As soon as you can, try copy on air QSOs. Real traffic is good in one sense :
it is plain text so it may help you "filling the gaps".
On the other hand, computer training is good too bcoz random signs (not "human
text") help you mastering speed & correct way of sending.
Well .. only "IMHO".
I can not avoid giving a link too ;op

Humm, BTW, I will share with you some "funny" story. Once agn a Froggy one.
Here in France (aka "Tax country"), we are paying yearly fees to be able to use
the ether. "Licence renewal" : US$45 / year.
Up to +-1998, these fees were collected by the Telecom Admin. You were sending
the money to the "Telecom" Center.
Since 1998, and an N-nnnth change, these fees are now to be paid to the "Trsor
Public", i.e. same place where we send all our taxes (salary, homing, etc).
So...yes, ham licence is now considered as a TAX.
But now comes the funny part of the story : I have not yet sent my money (still
15 days to do so). And yesterday I have "logically" received a reminder from my
dear "Trsor Public", telling me that if I do not pay in time, I will be fined !
"Bonus" starts at $15 + $5 processing fees.
Vive la France !
72!
