Thanks for that Bill, I like a bit of history and tradition in sport.

It's a pity that Football (we call it 'American' or 'Gridiron' football to
differentiate from 'Footie') isn't shown more on UK TV. I would probably
really take to it because I enjoy watching its ancestor - Rugby League. In
recent years this has become quite 'Americanized' and now has a similar 'big
noisy family afternoon out' atmosphere complete with cheerleaders, fireworks
and score celebration anthems over the PA etc.
I'll have to treat myself to one of those UK Digital receivers, cos they
show more USA sports late nights. Might sign-up for the Packers supporters
club, in sympathy for their lousy weather.
