Excellently SOC ('though pedant that I am, I took the precaution of checking
all potentially contentious words at www.websters.com ;-))

I'm still trying to track down a letter to the Daily Telegraph (UK
broadsheet) that discusses (at great length) the difference in meaning
between the phrases, "The Pedant's Society" and "The Pedants' Society".
'Twas a scream and I still don't quite follow it.
