LONDON (Reuters) - the majority of the European smokers would find easier to 
give up sex for one month than cigarette, according to a study published 
Monday. Numbers of them even ensure that to jump with a rubber band or by 
parachute would be less difficult than to give up tobacco. According to this 
study, carried out with more than 2.000 smokers originating from six European 
countries, 62% of them think that holidays of the end of the year are a good 
period to stop smoking. But three percent only admit having use this excuse to 
give up cigarettes. Nearly 80% of the British smokers, nearly 70% of those in 
the Netherlands, in France and Germany and more than 55% of the Belgian and 
Spanish smokers would prefer stop the sex than cigarette during one month. 
Although 60% of the "nicotine addicts" affirm that they would try to stop the 
cigarette if that were to affect their love life, they are 35% to admit never 
having tried to give up tobacco. According to this study, carried out on behalf 
of the organization Scape anti-tobacco, the fear of problems of health 
constitutes the first factor to stop smoking, followed by the concern of the 
family environment and the cost of the cigarettes. But 62% of those who tried 
to give up smoking have started smoking again in less than one month.
