Dance of the rain in Eve's dress to entreat the sky [ 2002-12-04 10:50 ]
SYDNEY (Reuters) - Several hundreds of Australian living in the south of the 
country devastated by the dryness will organize next spring a dance of the 
rain, as naked as Eve. Taking as a starting point a nepalese tradition, the 
women of Ouyen, in the north-east of the State of Victoria, will dance naked in 
the bush at the beginning of March, right before the beginning of the 
sowing. "We will invite all the families of the area of Mallee victim of the 
dryness (...) we will eat and we will have fun all the day", declared Lynne 
Healy, organizing the event. "The women will go then by bus in a held secret 
place and we will make our dance", she added. This dance was envisaged at the 
beginning for approximately 200 women but the organizing ones think that this 
figure could benefit from the media advertisement. On the other hand, the media 
will not be invited to the event. "We will be completely naked, therefore not 
camera", specified Healy.
