[SOC] English like wot it should be spoken like.

Dear Yanks.
As you will have already noticed, over this side of the pond we are
maintaining a characteristicly British dignified diplomatic silence.
This is in the interests of Anglo-American relations.

We shall not offend you by describing what you actually sound like to us.
Nor, shall we mention that the Jerry Springer show is shown on British TV,
lest you realise that you are skating on very, very thin ice indeed.
Also, it would be churlish to mention that when our soap opera 'Coronation
Street' was shown on US Cable TV, some stations inserted subtitles, despite
the soundtrack actually being in the North-Western 'shade' of English which
is my own native accent.

American English does however have one advantage over 'English' English. You
can always tell what an American is saying from a much greater distance.

Nyah, Nyah, Nyah...!

Chris G4PDJ
England (mother of the free...that's you by the way)
