Los Angeles (Reuters) - Seven years after having advised women how to be
attractive if they wanted to find the ideal husband, the authors of an American
best-seller on the rules to be followed as regards meetings in love put the
work back on the stocks in order to adapt it to the cyberspace. On
Internet, "(men) marrent themselves. They take the maximum of it ", according
to Ellen Fein and Sherrie Schneider, authors, among other ones, of " The
Rules " in 1995 and recently of" The Rules for Online Dating ", in bookshop in
the United States since July 30. "the women are so direct that the men have
fun. You cannot imagine the alibis which they invent to juggle with four or
five women at the same time ", explains Ellen Fein. "That started to become a
bad scene of bar. The women let themselves go to send e-mail, to answer the
advertisements of the men, to send e-mail shortly after a first meeting - to
make million errors! It is for that that we wrote this book ", adds she.
According to the book, an e-mail is equivalent to a telephone call (never call
first and recall only seldom), a first meeting never finishes in bed, it does
not matter the time during which emails were exchanged, and the instantaneous
electronic mail is "like an easy appointment, which we disadvise. We want that
the men court us, ask us in advance for a date." Among the other advices: how
to find a good pseudo on Internet (neither too austere, nor too sexy), to wait
24 hours to answer e-mail and to get rid of the men who do not ask for an
appointment after the fourth message.
