OK, rotten weather, bands are shot, and I finished work on my NC-101X. So, I
sat down and Read "A History of QRP" by Ade Weiss W0RSP.
If you haven't read this, or thought it might be dry, because you flunked
history while working on your BSEE, or whatever. READ IT. It is great. There
is a section on the voyage of the Kon-Tiki, and Thor Heyerdahl, which I was
reminded of by the recent discussion on the Hallicrafters list. Of even
greater interest is the vacillation in attitude of the ARRL over the years.
(No, the book is neither pro nor con, ARRL, the facts speak for themselves,
taken from the pages of QST).
Even for one such as myself, dubbed a "second-grader" by one of the great
minds in QRP anals, it was very interesting and a fun read.
