I don't think anyone else has said it, but I think it deserves to be said.
I used to be a member of ARRL, RSGB, Ten-10, one or two QRP organizations,
plus a few other groups.  And I am a life member of AMSAT (only one way out
of that one, I guess; and I'm not ready, thanks).  But to me, the classiest
bunch of all has got to be the SOC.  We have here a group of people with
divergent opinions that range all over the place, yet they are expressed
with sanity and reason.  Everybody keeps cool, reads what others have to
say, thinks, and maybe comments some more, with no ranting and raving that
somebody or other is a scurvy cur -- or even worse.  All of us have the
extremely important ability to laugh at ourselves, without which things
would be pretty grim, and we take advantage of that.  To me, this is the
kind of group that truly needs to exist.  I hope everyone else enjoys it as
much as I do.
