[SOC] Yeesh, talk about depressing...

I only know about what's going on in the "pop world" if it gets mentioned
on the news :^) My only real "entertainment" is the Fox News Channel and
Rush Limbaugh so I probably know more about world politics than I do about
who's the hottest music star today :^)

If you saw me, you'd know I'm anything but trendy, lol :^) Blue jeans and
flannel in the summer, and in the winter the flannel is exchanged for a
black leather jacket... everyone else is wearing neon orange coats that
make them look like they weigh 300 pounds :^)

It is true about no one in my age group knowing squat about anything
outside the stereo or television... in that respect, I'm kind of glad more
people my age don't vote :^) One of the guys from some boy band (if they
threw out the age requirements) could run for congress and he'd get elected
just because he's "cute" :^) Heck, the guy could run on a campaign
promoting soylent green and he'd probably still get elected :^D

I remember it quite OK, it was a period when young people cared about what
was
going on around them. Sadly today they seem to be entirely selfish and
egocentric.

My kids and grand kids know nothing beyond "trash TV" and, gimmee, gimmee
and,
"Oh duh, I started a job last week, when do I get a company BMW?".

Ask 1,000 kids aged between 15 and 30 today - "what is happening in the
world"
and the overwhelming majority couldn't answer beyond soap stars, pop stars
and
latest "trendy" gear.

As I said, I remember it very well, exciting times...
