Rob,

I used to be a list owner. I had my list set up so that if
anyone who wasn't subscribed or if they had a huge
.cc or to list, their email would come to me for checking.
The system had a positive acknowledgement - that is,
unless I positively told the system to send an email to the
list (i.e. accept it) then it was automatically rejected.

My guess is that no person ever saw your email and their
system, not getting a positive acknowledgement from the
list moderator, simply threw your email away.
