[Snowball] Too cool

Hi,
I got to poke around in the snowball this evening for a bit. Among the
treasures I found some old magazines including two copies of "Radio"
from 1938. I am pulling the old publications out so I can read them
carefully and then I'll put them back into the snowball when the next
one arrives here.
The transformer I had hoped would power that glowbug transmitter just
doesn't have the ooomph. I did set aside a transformer I can use in the
power supply for small receivers like the Simple X Super. I found a long
strip of Schottky diodes and snipped off a few to use in some double
balanced, diode ring mixers/modulators/product detectors - about four
sets of four. The paper tape strip was labeled and my cuts separated the
part number on one side and the specs on the other side. I relabeled the
missing info. Heads up..some of those are on the way around.
Work has been intense for a couple of weeks but the big project is
almost *done*. I'll have more time to play radio, play my accordion, and
pet the dog for a little while.
73,
Bill KU8H
