WE usually thing faster scanning is better. You want to delay to have a 
better change of hearing CW or SSB I expect. There might be an option to 
delay on finding a signal, or to not resume scan until after the signal 
goes away.

There might be a way to program the frequency sequence using a computer 
on the CAT port, though it may not get a good data on whether a signal 
is present or not to hold on finding a signal.
