Good morning everyone,

Now that FD 2022 is in the rear view mirror, I thought I'd provide some
perspective.

There were some firsts for me this year:

The first time I participated at both my home QTH and with the club.

The first time I operated with Solar Power.

The first time I kept a personal field day log and submitted for scoring to
the ARRL (374 in class 1E, in case you were wondering).

The first time I had a QSO with W1AW (I don't know why I never worked them
before over the last 20 years or so - it just didn't happen).

Successful events do not happen by themselves, there are many people behind
the scenes. What follows is a feeble attempt to thank a few of those
people. Sincerest apologies to anyone I may have missed - it was
unintentional.

Thank you Pete Butt for coordinating permission to use the Sotterley
Plantation site.

Thank you Tony for your assistance in generating my electronic ARRL Field
day log.

Thank you Field day set up and tear down crew - without you there IS NO
FIELD Day.

Lastly, and quite possibly most importantly, thank you Rachel for your
tireless efforts to keep food and snacks close at hand, grilling various
pieces of dead animal flesh and stocking the cooler with cold beverages.
Thank you.

Now the burgers and brats are digested, radios are put aside, logs are
complete, the cacophony of SSB QSO's have subsided.

Are you ready for next year?

DE N1LID (Boz)
