[SMCARA] Winlink MDC Monthly Check-in

Remember that tomorrow is the MDC Monthly check-in.

If you haven’t downloaded Winlink Express or another client yet, you can do
that today and set it up and test it.  Even if you plan to use other
clients, I recommend starting with Winlink Express because that is where
the most help can be found.  I would recommend starting out with the Telnet
access mode.

If this is the first time using Winlink then the information you provide is
used to create your account.  At a minimum you will need to enter Call
sign, Password, recovery email and Grid-square.  Note: I don’t recall when
setting up your account (first time logging in), if there is a delay before
you can start using it.  If there is, I don’t think it would be more than
an hour or two.

If you are setting your account up for the first time or refreshing your
memory on how to use it, feel free to send a test message to N3AK.  I’ve
been testing and experimenting a lot with Winlink the past couple of weeks
so there is a good change I’ll reply tonight or tomorrow.  You can also
include your own email in the to line and you should get it there as well.
