[SMCARA] STEM Fest After Action

Good Morning SMCARA! A group of us met at the museum yesterday to host a radio display for the STEM Fest. Many thanks to Pete, WA3UMY for giving us the heads-up on this event and for his help yesterday. Jayne, W4VJU and Rick, W1JRM were there to support with a very interesting snap circuit display and general discussion with the kids and parents on all things radio. I setup an HF and VHF radio for the day. Thanks to Parks on the Air and the SC QSO party we were able to make a lot of contacts with the kids. We did make a few short contacts on the repeater with Steve, KA3WAP. Thanks to Tom, W4OKW for his support during the day and to Joe, KB3HNP who made the trip down from Charles County to help out.        
We had a decent number of kids and adults come through during the day but would have been nice to have a few more come through. Overall it was a great way to spend a Saturday and while we were packing up, we had a lot of ideas on how to improve our setup and help get more people engaged.
