Good Afternoon Scott! No worries at all for sending the email, we are always glad to help get someone rolling. Due to the virus, most, if not all, of the in person testing has halted. Over the last couple days, I have heard there are some on-line testing sessions taking place. I am working now to get the detail on the sessions and planned to send it out to the group, so keep an eye out for that email.
I work on Webster Field so I can always stop by if you want to chat or help with anything. And nice collection of radios! Those are excellent radios and if you are able to program them, which it sounds like you are, they should work very well for you on the ham freqs.
Nice to meet you and feel free reach out to the group for anything. And good luck on the test when you get to take it :)

 Good afternoon,

I am not yet an SMCARA member, but I joined this mailing list earlier
this year as I am interested in getting my Technician license and
getting into the hobby. I hope this email doesn't disturb anyone or
break any rules.

My name is Scott, I am 25, and I am a resident of St. Inigoes, MD just
outside of Webster Field. I have been recently studying the Technician
exam, and a lot of the knowledge is already familiar to me with the
exception of a few weak areas I am working on. I am reaching out to see
if anyone in the club might be willing to assist in proctoring an exam,
or if there are local resources available to do so. All of the test
sites I am finding online are 2+ hours away north of Baltimore or in
Virginia.

I already have a pretty large collection of Motorola radios ready to go,
including HT750s, HT1250s, CDM1250/1550LS+, XTS2500/3000/5000, but I'd
like to get licensed and be able to actually use them as intended beyond
just monitoring and perhaps meet some interesting and knowledgeable
folks along the way.

I would greatly appreciate any advice or input anyone has. I look
forward to the opportunity to perhaps become more involved with the
club, help out, and learn more.

Thank you,

Scott Bonk

St. Inigoes, MD
