[SMCARA] TailgateFest Oct 5, 2019

 I'm sorry to hear that some of our fellow hams who would like to attend the SMCARA TailgateFest have a conflict with the Oct. 5 date. There has been a desire by the club to promote increased attendance.
As for the suggestion that we change the date to Oct 10, 2019, it would be difficult to do and, in my view cause unnecessary confusion and disruption.
Consider the following:Our TailgateFest has been listed on the ARRL website for several months as occurring on 10/5 The 10/5 date was published in print recently in QST.Notices have been sent out to So. Md. clubsIndividuals have made reservations for inside tables.A commercial vendor has committed to attending.
The current date was discussed and approved by the club membership months ago. We have, also, approved next year's TailgateFest date, 10/3/2020, and the Hollywood VFD Bingo Hall has been reserved. If the club desires a different date for next year could be considered subject to Bingo Hall availability.
The bottom line is any date selected my be inconvenient to some.
