Hi gang,

I take back what I said at the meeting last night! I made a few more adjustments and with the help of Steve, KA3WAP's audio reports, we got it sounding pretty good. Give it a try and let's see how she goes. The LOUD courtesy beep is still there, but for now, I am happy to have gotten rid of the distortion. Let me know how the balance is between the computer voice and repeated audio - those are adjustable.

If you are interested in the technical side of the issue, it seems the output of the CAT-250 controller was overdriving the Bridgecom repeater audio input stage and causing the distortion. CAT says that the controller output should be in the 400 mv range. I had to take it below 200 mv to clear the distortion.

If you want to try it out, send a DTMF (touchtone) 4 0 0 and it should tell you what time it is. 3 7 5 plus a string of keypad entries will test your TT pad and read back what you sent.
