Marathon

TIMELINE (Note: Eastern Daylight Saving Time):
-0615 Gather inside the HLSS grounds. Meet at Bill KB4QAA's white Buick
sedan
-0700 Operators to assigned race course stations
-0715 Race Start
-1130 Deputy Sheriff departs 439 Turnaround
-1130-1315 Free Buffet Luncheon, Paul Hall Center
-1300 Race Closure
WHO: Volunteers so far. Last minute volunteers welcome, including partial
time period!

COMM PRIORITIES:
-Pass traffic from/to Race Officials, LEO, EMS as requested
-Notify NCS of significant race events specifically: First Runner passing,
Last Runner, Location of SAG Wagon (picks up runners), Injuries/significant
incidents
-Net Roll Call on hour/half hour
CALLSIGNS:
-Plain language tactical callsigns will be used relating to
location/function, e.g. Base (NCS), First Turnaround, Second Turnaround, 439
Turnaround. Operators will be responsible for additionally identifying with
FCC callsign in accordance with regs and 10 minute requirement.
HOW:
-Coordination email sent to N3PX repeater admin
-Route check Saturday afternoon, and meet with Race Coordinator by Bill,
KB4QAA
-SUNDAY MORNING:
*Gather inside HLSS grounds.
*Review OpPlan/ Comm Plan.
*Issue copy of OpPlan, Map, Identification Placards (2 each)
*Make station assignments (per Race Director request), Rover assignment
-Operators will be On Station at assignments No Later Than 07:00 am. Rover
will be available for relief and assistance and to allow for free luncheon
at the Paul Hall Center.
-Portapotties are located around the course
NOTES:
-The LPRM is an international event with Olympic class runners.
-Avoid interfering with race and runners. Keep vehicles to far edge of road
shoulders.
-In event of emergency/catastrophe be prepared to relocate as directed by
NCS
-Two identification placards on yellow card stock will be provided to each
operator "Amateur Radio Communications" with tape
-Due to geography and span of course, communications is a challenge and
require flexibility in operating and use of multiple simultaneous
repeaters/circuits. High power operation is encouraged. Use of external
antennas, high gain or directional antennas is encouraged.
-Corrections and suggestions to this Op Plan are welcome!
