[SMCARA] Lower Potomac Marathon

Good morning fellow hams.  At the meeting (thank you for all that attended) it was mentioned that we have again been asked to help with the Lower Potomac Marathon, see email below.  With crickets chirping the background, we did not have very many volunteers at the meeting, save a couple.  Please consider helping with this project.  I know it is last minute, and everyone’s time is very valuable.  But this gives the club a chance to get out there with the public and do what we do.   Please let me know as soon as possible if you would like to help.  Thank you so much.

Hi Everyone, The 14th Lower Potomac River Marathon is coming up March 11, 2018.  I hope a few of you can provide your usual excellent support on the course, monitoring the runners' progress and maintaining safety.  Yes, it's a long gig for everyone involved, but it's thanks to you and all of our dedicated volunteers that our race enjoys a fine reputation for excellent organization, safety, and top notch competition.  We wish we could repay you with more than a t-shirt and a hot meal at the Paul Hall Center! Tom, I hope you're willing and available to be the course Director of Course Ops again?
