Well folks, it was a good one! A bit chilly waiting outside for the
0830 opening bell, but the line moved well (5-10 minutes maybe). No wind
and a nice Sun, made the wait bearable.
First thing I noticed after getting inside was that the commercial
exhibit/vendor area was expanded from past events. This is a good thing!
Elecraft, MFJ, QSRadio, and some "mom and pop" dealers with lots of
shiny stuff to buy.
The flea market area was nearly full, with just a few tables empty.
Dan, KD3CQ, graciously let me put the remnants of the KB3AMO Estate sale
on his table and I only had to schlepp a couple treasures back home!
Made about $100 for the estate and about the same for the club.
It was well attended and there seemed to be a fair amount of folding
stuff (coin of the realm) changing hands. I found all the bits I
needed, except for a couple of Weller soldering iron tips. Two
purchaseswere noteworthy: 1. a Kenwood UHF transceiver which will go
onto the 64 machine as control link, and 2. A nearly new, Astron 20 amp
power supply to replace the Icom supply we use on Field Day, which went
to it's "happy hunting grounds" in a cloud of smoke.
I didn't see any other St Marys folks, but did run into my NC pals,
John, K4OZY and Nick, K4NYW, Ken, W3USN, and spotted Tom, W3TOM (our
Atlantic ARRL director) running around doing ARRL stuff.
Leftovers:
1. PK-232 Multi-Mode packet controller, this is what we used before
sound cards took over the digital world.
2. Hallicrafters CB-7, Six channel (!), tube type CB set, built in AC
or DC power supply.
3. MFJ Computer interface- used for RTTY/Packet. Converted tones to
RS-232 to your computer.
These are now "freebies". If you want anything let me know. A small
donation to the club would be a nice gesture.
