[SMCARA] Contest Logger Invite

Hi All,

This weekend (the 29th) Radio Amateurs of Canada (RAC) will hold it's
Winter Contest.  It will start at 0000Z on Saturday, that's 1900 EST on
Friday and end at 0059 Saturday (1859 PM EST on Saturday).

My partner Chris and I have been selected to represent RAC on the island of
Newfoundland.  We will use the callsign VO1RAC.  For contest participants,
a QSO with us will be worth 20 points, so we expect to be busy.  As of this
moment, we plan to use SSB only.

Hopefully, by Friday evening, I will have a headphone distribution
amplifier available so a second person can monitor the action.  Assuming
that is so, I'd like to throw out an invitation for some of you to come log
for a while.  My operating periods will be:

1900 to 2300 Friday evening
0900 to 1200 Saturday Morning
1500 to 1700 Saturday Afternoon

I picked time periods that are compatible with my old age ... Chris will do
more hours than me and he'll do the mid watch!

Here's an opportunity to participate in the RAC Winter Contest from the
Newfoundland end and to have some unusual radio fun!

If you can't visit, look for us anytime between 0000Z through 2359Z
Saturday the 29th.    Frequencies are as follows (KHz):

1850 (we do plan to try our 160 meter inverted L, sometime in the dead of
night ... not on my watch), 3775, 7075, 7225, 14175 and I doubt if we'll
get up to 21,250, but it might happen.  I'll try to hit the 7225 general
class frequency on 40 during the evening Friday (when 20 gives out).
