A warning to CB/ GMRS hobbyists. Self appointed and self serving HAMs are actively infiltrating CB and GMRS groups and reporting posts and photos of FCC non-compliant things like AMPs and non-type certified radios like "10 meter" radios modified for CB and the Chinese equipment like Waxoun and Baofengs being used in part 90 or 95 applications like MURS/GMRS. FB adopts the same belief as Ebay that it feels if it is illegal in the US they wont allow it on their system and therefore side with the complaintants. Carefull who you offer advice to or what you show in your radio shack pics. This has personnaly occured to me recent history when I explained to a fellow GMRS'er in a post how to setup his HT and mobile as a local crossband repeater . I suffered the barrage of replies by these enforcemet hams before the post was killed, then blocked when I posted photos of my Baofeng mounted in my truck in a makeshift cupholder/cell phone mount while explaining how to rig the cell phone holder mount, Imade the mistake of mentioning I use the Baofeng in a GMRS configuration for which it is not type accepted. Followed by the block, a FB warning and an inbox of HAMs telling me I was second only to an axe murderer in their circles. If you've been in CB groups you will have seen the "thats not legal for CB " its seems like they are stepping up their game. Beware.
