[SMCARA] Field Day is coming!

OK, gang, FD is about 2 weeks away.

Are you all set?  Got  your calendar cleared?  Got enough OFF! Found  
your headphones or favorite key? Have you contacted June, KC3GYL, with 
your contribution to the pot luck? Called tom, W4OKW, to volunteer for 
an all-night stint working CW for max points? Psych! Just kidding, or not!

We have the tent lined up, antennas organized, rigs identified (although 
as Larry N3JTN, says "You can never have enough radios"), lots of coax, 
lights for the tent, grill for the chow, coffee (covfefe?) pots for, 
well you know what, generators, computers for logging, food and drinks a 
bunch, and other sorts of things that will help make it a fun time for all.

Details: Call sign - K3HKI, Class - 3A MD, The GOTA (get on the air) 
station will be coordinated by Chris, KC3ERI, and will provide an 
opportunity for non-hams to learn about this great hobby of ours.  For 
you "newbies", FD as well as the GOTA station will give you an 
opportunity to "dive into" HF operations.

Set up starts officially at 0900 on Saturday and the starting gun goes 
off at 1400 (18Z).  Some stuff will be pre-positioned Friday afternoon. 
Typically we run out of steam Sunday morning and start tearing down 
before the actual end of the event. If things are going great, we can 
keep plugging away until 1400.

What have we forgotten?  Let me know if you think of anything. We (Tom, 
June, and Boz) will have a last minute planning session at noon tomorrow 
(Friday, 16th June), so let us know if you think of anything.

Did I mention we are having a pot luck supper at the FD site? Of course, 
I did!  Even if you don't have time to join the FD fun, be sure to bring 
the family for a little camaraderie and  a meal with your friends.
