Want to know what HF bands are DX-active at any time to and from St. Mary's County? Check out the maps and reports on WSPRnet (the Weak Signal Propagation Reporter Network) for station K3RWR to help you find out.

K3RWR currently posts real-time WSPR reception reports for 9 HF bands from 630M to 10M on WSPRnet. On the TX side, K3RWR frequency hops on 6 or more WSPR frequencies running 5 watts output. Transmissions average once every 12 minutes for each active frequency. TX frequencies cover 160M - 10M and vary by time of day. Reception reports received world-wide for K3RWR are likewise posted to WSPRnet.

The station is currently operating 7x24 on WSPR (RX & TX) and generates some 17,000+ reports per day on WSPRnet. The maps and data data base reports on WSPRnet show who is hearing and who is heard by K3RWR, as well as all WSPR stations, world-wide. WSPRnet maps and reports can be configured to show information by band, time, and station.

K3RWR has been operating multi-band WSPR since mid-December 2016. WSJT-X software controls three HF transmitters driving an assortment of vertical and dipole antennae. A stand-alone Red-Pitaya provides multi-band receiving, decoding, and reporting to WSPR net. An active all-band vertical RX antenna feeds the Red-Pitaya.

I am continually amazed to see the WSPR DX reports generated world-wide by stations running 5 watts or less! Log on the WSPRnet and check out the WSPR maps and reports for yourself. You might even consider joining in on the the fun by starting up your own WSPR DX station!

It's all great fun! Comments are always welcome.

73,
Rob - K3RWR
