[SMCARA] Off-topic request for help

Hello fellow hams of St. Mary's County,



As some of you know, I'm a recent transplant from "Zero" land (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) and am now working for CTSi at 4.11.2 / NAWCAD (Webster Field) where I'm in engineering management. I was at Rockwell Collins for 17 years doing commercial avionics and from 2008-2017 was an engineering manager for PMA-213's JPALS program.



This is a long shot, but here goes: I have a PoDS shipping container arriving in Lexington Park tomorrow afternoon which will require unloading. The guy I had "contracted" to provide a moving crew is pulling a bait and switch on pricing, personnel, and as the last straw was unable to provide proof of liability insurance or bonding which he previously assured me he would be able to do. That's way too many red flags for me, so I informed him that I no longer required his services.



So I'm now in a last-minute search for 1-3 strong young men (hungry high-school or college types - or strong young ladies out of respect to the modern age) who are available Saturday afternoon (1:00-ish) to help unload a shipping container into a storage unit. I will be happy to put your kids to work as well as one or two of their friends for whom you can personally vouch. The schlep from the container to storage unit door is ~100 feet. I will pay $18.00/hr plus soft drinks, water, etc. and three hour minimum. The work will be performed at The Storage Mall on Great Mills Road (formerly Lexington Park Self Storage). This is the storage facility directly across the street from the huge U-Haul place. I realize that not many of you have met me, so for your peace of mind, this is a very public location and the office of the storage facility is staffed on Saturdays.
