Well this is the week leading to the VB HAMFEST & ELECTRONICS SHOW 2016.

The team is busy getting all the things…big and small…done and ready to 
see everyone next Saturday, Sept 10 at the Va Beach Convention Center. 
Tables and chairs, electricity, forum rooms and the VE testing team are 
ready. The VE testing team is hoping for a big turn out.

VE testing is $15 and a photo ID is needed. If you are upgrading your 
license then a copy of your license must to brought as it will go with 
your upgrade testing material to be certified.

We have lots of vendors…national and local…that will there to assist you 
in any way they can.

Doors open at 8:30am for the holders of early purchased tickets and 9am 
($10) for everyone else and goes till 4pm

Door prizes and FestBucks on the hour to be given out.

Grand prize is a MFJ-226 Antenna Analyzer.

This year a special prize will be given to the YOUNGEST LICENSED ham 
from a vendor.

”Satellite Hq will have one of the largest assortments of RC Drones at 
the Hamfest to celebrate the Air Show, and will award a Nice Drone to 
the Youngest licensed Ham in attendence at Fest, and will give extra 
Discounts to any Military Person or Veteran who wish to purchase any 
Drones at the Fest.”

At 9am in the youth Forum…..AT 0900 the K4AMG Memorial Amateur Radio 
Club, Inc. will hold a “YOUTH FORUM” at the Fest.

Carissa Ferguson KJ4EZA was the high score winner for the Virginia QSO 
PARTY 2016.  She will receive the YOUTH PLAQUE AWARD during the forum.

This award can be achieved for by young people 18 years and below.

K4AMG also offers a YOUNG ADULT AWARD from ages 19 –24.  There were no 
winners for this award in 2016.

At the forum if Carissa does not make a presentation, we will feature 
several short videos featuring the “DAYTON HAMVENTION YOUTH FORUM” 
Facilitated by Carole Perry WB2MGP (about 28 years).

To date K4AMG has recommended and or helped 6 young hams that have given 
presentations at the Dayton event.  We have recommended Carissa to speak 
in 2017.

Come to the K4AMG forum and celebrate Carissa’s win and youth in amateur 
radio.  See you at 0900.

146.970 PL141.3 if you need help.

The Blue Angels will be flying at 3 pm that afternoon also for your 
enjoyment.
