[SMCARA] APRS Trip

Good evening everyone.  I have been inspired by a ham buddy, Bob KA3OCS, who is sailing his boat to the Keys right now.  Bob has been running his APRS and beaconing his entire trip so far, which you can see at www.aprs.fi  by his callsign KA3OCS-8.  As I said, Bob’s trip has inspired me to hook up my FT1XD HT and APRS it down to Western NC tomorrow. If I have everything programmed correctly, as it seems I do, you can view me on the www.aprs.fi website by searching for N3YUG-9, which will show the last hour of my trip.  If you would like to see more than the last hour, you can change the “Track tail length” to 12 or 24 hours and see the entire journey.  If you have APRS, try sending me a message if you like, but won’t be able to respond until I stop.  I’ll be one the 350 machine via echolink some, and HF mobile.  If anyone wants to give a try one the HF bands shoot me a text at 301-904-8315.  I can run 80-10M, haven’t tried the new whip on 6M or 160M to see if it loads up.
