Hi Bob,
As Tom, ND3N, says you can use the TS-2000 to check the SWR, keeping the power out at a minimum or the SWR Foldback circuit in the rig will produce some pretty squirrelly results.
Later, once you get it going, you can borrow an analyzer and runs some plots for your file. This way when you have to do some troubleshooting, you can go back to the original VSWR plot and see whether the antenna is at fault or something else. Since this is a "Hi Q" antenna, rain and nearby objects can detune it. You mention that you have it up, so go ahead and run the VSWR plot with the 2000 and that will give you an idea which way you have to go with the tuning rods.
As I mentioned this is a Hi Q antenna which means it will only show a low VSWR over a very narrow range. The autotuner in the Kenwood will help match it to your rig and give you a bit more bandwidth, before VSWR foldback kicks in.
I helped my son tune up his dipole version of this antenna and it has worked well for him. He lives in a "no antenna" condo and raises it above the stockade fence around his patio when he goes on the air. It was a bit tedious to tune up, as the adjustments interact, so have patience! We found that the recommended settings for the adjustment rods got us in the "ballpark", and a bit of "peaking and tweaking" got it where we needed it to resonate. So, pick your favorite frequencies and then use the autotuner to help you flatten out the VSWR as you get away from the resonant spot.
Have Fun....every day!
