[SMCARA] Question/Opinions

Chris, Good morning. Question, where are you living? Will you be close
enough to the repeaters to get in from at home? I would recommend taking
Dave up on his offer and give the FT-60R a shot, that will let you know how
well, and from where you can get into the repeater on an HT. There isn't
much more frustrating than getting an HT and being able to listen to the
repeaters, but not being able to get into them with the 5 watts and antenna
the HT has. Ask June KC3GYL, who for a while had to walk out to the end of
her driveway to be able to talk on the repeater. HT worked much better for
her once she got up an outdoor vertical 2 meter antenna.

Oh, and you can find reviews of the FT60R (32 pages of them) on
http://www.eham.net/reviews/detail/4286
That many people reviewed it (320 people) and it is rated at 4.6, that is a
little better than any of my HT (FT-50R, VX-6R, ID-51A, FT1XD)!

Eham.net has a great review section!

Good luck and 73

Subject: [SMCARA] Question/Opinions

Hey all,
I'm looking for some input on HT radios. I'm looking at the Yaesu FT-60R
dual band and was wanting some input from users of this radio.

Thanks,

Chris Boone, KM4VNP
