Bob,

  Congratulations on taking and passing the Technician license exam and welcome to the hobby!

  We are all pleased to welcome you to a great hobby... there is so much to do it can make your head spin.  For now, take your time and get acclimated with some of the easy stuff and the rest will follow in due time.  I would encourage you to keep reading the various test preparation books and possibly take some practice exams for the General Class ticket when you feel ready because that will really open up the door for you in terms of gaining knowledge of all of the things you can do with ham radio technology.

  Hope to see you at the club meetings and have fun!  If I can assist you in any way as you get going in the hobby, feel free to let me know.

I just passed the test for my tech license on the 7th . I have received my call sign today KC3GLJ . I have communicated with Boz by email and he has sent me an application to  join SMCARA. I am looking forward to meeting you on the 25th. I would like to give you a little background about myself. I have taken  radio and basics electronics about 40 years ago and a lot has changed. I did not go into radio but went into  life safety systems. Now that I am retired I want to get back into radio, but I have a lot of questions. I look forward to meeting all the club members and asking question.
