[SMCARA] So much DX, so little time...

For what it's worth, both CQ and ARRL consider those kinds of signals to be a disqualifier for their contests. Most contesters I know (myself included) take a lot of pride in our signals. I have to note that I hear these distorted sign mostly on Sunday afternoon, when the casual operator is just putting in a few hours of dx chasing - and you can hear them evrry night on 75 meters.

If it ain't broke, let's fix it until it is...

And my favorite peeve - those bozos who use max processing, compression, gating, enhancement, etc. (AKTR-all knobs to the right) to cram the most bass, breath pops, blower fan noise, barking dogs, and ringing telephones onto their signal! All this in a 2.8 KHz, legal bandwidth, maybe that is why you can hear their splatter up and down the band.

All,
10M is open to Europe and SA with lots of stations calling. Lots of LIDs with big amps on already too so pack your patience.
