[SMCARA] Repeater call sign

As you may already know, there is a >possibility< Saint Mary's county
government will allow us to install 
a new repeater system on a tower in Leonardtown.  The tower has not yet been
built and final approval 
for the new repeater has not yet been received. 

In preparation for this eventuality, we applied for a call sign. The FCC has
assigned SMCARA club license 
KC3FOQ to support the potential new repeater in Leonardtown.

It has been proposed we apply for a vanity call sign to honor a prior RACES
officers of St. Mary's County;
John Alfred Barolet SK. He was the RACES officer for many years. His call
sign was AL3JAB. 

I'm not opposed to the idea, but didn't want to effect the change without
consulting with you, the membership.

If you have alternative call sign ideas, please let me know.  If I don't
hear of any alternatives, I will apply for
the new call sign.  If there are alternative ideas, it will be voted upon at
the October club meeting.
