I have used over 75 sets of powerpole connectors in the last several years in mobile and portable ham applications and have even converted all my musical power supplies over to them and have never had a connection fail. If you are worried about them pulling apart you can always put a small wire tie around them. Be aware that there are cheap chinese knock offs of these in circulation. Be sure to get the real thing. Actually, they are really good for instruments that you walk around on stage with as if you accidently step on your cord they will pull apart without tripping you or damaging your instrument. They are rapidly becoming a standard for emergency response equipment.

I use power poles in my mobile & all the radios in my shack & have for a while now & NEVER had an issue. I recommend them. They work well & aids in a clean install.

</div>Power Poles are definitely a weak link in power...And in a mobile
configurations a total waste. I have or had them on my base unit and after
issues with the lack of anything positive about locking the two together
for a solid connection I removed them and was able to connect directly to
power supply.I will add one other thing about the power poles. Keep in mind
that a loose or intermittent connection adds more resistance.. More
resistance means more current which adds to great voltage draw on the
battery and alternator. Lose the power poles and use the twist on power
connection (wraps) or some in-line insolated splice that is either crimped
or soldered for something positive. Johnson Power-poles are in my opinion a
waste and in a mobile config definitely asking for trouble..... Just my
opinion.....Bill
