We used to stay at the Drury Inn on I-75, but they jacked the nightly up to over $200, so our new "favorite" is the Quality Inn, just a klik or two up from the Drury and $146 a night. The free happy hour at the Drury wasn't worth over $64 a night! Most hotels in Dayton area goose their rates up for the hamvention weekend, still kind of nasty.
If you can tear yourself away from the flea market and all the new goodies inside the HARA arena, a trip to the USAF Museum at Wright-Patterson AFB is an incredible sight! Very well done (almost as good as the Naval Air Museum in Pensacola!) and a "must see" for aviation nuts.

Yes, I am heading to Dayton.
I have reserved a 4-person suite at the Univ. of Dayton for Weds., 5/13 thru Sun., 5/17. These accommodations are quite nice and the price is very reasonable. The cost is $105/night for 4 people. Each suite includes a bathroom, living room, and two bedrooms (2 beds ea).
I have room for one more in this suite. If you would like to join my group, let me know ASAP. The cost would only be $105 for 4 nights. You would be hard pressed to find any kind of accommodation for this modest price. Also, I will be driving and can provide transportation to and from Dayton.
Again, if you're interested let me know ASAP. Email or give me a call (240-925-1105). I'll, also, be at the club meeting on Thurs.

The Ham radio manufacturers showcase their latest radios, vendors cut prices in half( well not really) and the tailgate area is huge. Don't forget to buy your bowling pin for $5 at Mendelssohn's in the tailgate area. In the Arena area there are forums on contesting, antenna building, Education,( Gordo frying a pickle -- that's cool). After hours there are a lot of dinners DX, Contesting, Top Band, AMSAT, Contest University, and midnight pizza parties at the Crowne plaza.
